No. This does not "work" anywhere. But that depends what you mean by "Work".
Everyone has their own goals in this movement. Some are anti-vaccine, some are anti-government period, some are trying to get out of bills, fines, parking tickets and the like.
People have tried to hold this stuff up or use it successfully in court, provincial or federal (and even internationally), and failed. And yes you can hate the current courts if you like, but the fact is that our current courts are the ones we have; that will not change.
David Robinson, who feeds Jacquie what to say, has lived as a homeless person for years because of this scene - Please, ask him. He speaks openly about it.
Anyway to answer the question, it depends on what you mean by "Work". If you want to get out of parking tickets, fines, get out of wearing a mask or get out of taking a vaccine, no this will not Work. If you want to make useful change in government or in the courts, this is not the method and it will not Work for that either.
Leon, the "Powers" they promise with this Magna Carta stuff are vague for good reason. Because they are not real.
Try hard here to be critical of this movement, from a RESULTS-BASED perspective. What are you wanting to achieve here? And then ask yourself.. is there evidence that anyone else has actually gotten results, or achieved this? This is the crucial question - these people get very frustrated when you ask for concrete examples where this has "Worked" or Done Anything. And the answers they give will seem convoluted or confused.
It's great to be fired up for a movement, and it feels good to be a part of something. But don't look past the shortcomings, the lies, the holes in the story, and the things they wish to hide from you. Don't ignore the fact that everyone in this scene seems to want something different.
I say this as respectfully as possible, and having followed the group's actions and posting for over 1 year. I'm sure they're friendly and great people who mean well, but. This is not real, and is founded on layers upon layers of misunderstandings and misplaced faith. This scene will never remove or absolve you from legal trouble (it has never done this for any person) and more realistically has more chance to CREATE or COMPLICATE legal trouble for you.
I have no agenda whatsoever, I have no ill will, I simply aim to provide some of these details for people, because the PLD group and I'm sure this forum as well, are very strict on removing any comments which attempt to clarify the real facts. I don't judge anyone for looking for remedies or solutions to their issues - absolutely, we've all got issues. But these people create an "Echo chamber" where they never need to be challenged or questioned, and it's important to see and acknowledge that.
Best of luck and take care!
@Leon Geng Everyone has their own opinion.
If you understand the mechanics of PLD then you understand why it is a good avenue. We are working on making this more clearly apprehended but, like anything, it takes study.
There are many cases where the evidence of treason has freed people from unlawful demands. See the Successful Processes document.
We are standing up for the law which makes government accountable to us and equal under the law; law which commands harmless but firm civil disobedience
in the case of abused power; the law which was sealed by the King of the time "forever."
Article 61 is fair and mutually beneficial to all parties; it was made law and we have seen corrupt government/church try to repeal it. We won't let that stand.
Everyone has their opinion. Live and let live.
The gist is that if you don't support it, you are not supporting equal justice. Take your own route but I think when law's spirit and letter are sound, we should work to maintain it.
If there are more avenues to upholding law sound in spirit and letter, I'm all ears.
I think that if the law gives us a way to address the semi-covert corruption under which tyranny marches, we should try the lawful route. Compared to outlaw methods, peaceful and lawful action seems to offer the securest future for our children. Unlawful action is just further attempt to overthrow the government which always leads to unrest and less opportunity for the next generation.
